Workshop: Histories of Science, Medicine, Technology, and Environment (Week 8)

HSMT & Environmental History workshop

Du Bois Herbarium in the Oxford University Herbaria by Madeline White

Wednesdays, Weeks 2, 4, 6 & 8, 13:30-15:00

Seminar Room, Oxford Centre for the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology, 47 Banbury Road

The workshop in history of science, medicine, technology, and environment invites postgraduates and ECRs to present their works-in-progress to a group of their peers. Casual, yet constructive, we aim to foster a strong research community of the many scholars who already exist within the University. Presenters are invited to submit a work in progress for review (with the option to pre-circulate), and receive an hour of feedback and conversation. Topics for review can include a thesis chapter, draft article, conference presentation, etc.

Sessions typically consist of socialising over coffee and cake, a short presentation of 15-20 minutes, and 45 minutes+ of conversation. Coffee, tea, and baked goods (see example) are included.
