Alex Aylward is Departmental Lecturer in the History of Science at the Faculty of History, University of Oxford. He is a historian of the life and human sciences, especially their evolving political implications and societal applications across the modern period. He has published extensively on the British statistician, geneticist and eugenicist R. A. Fisher (1890-1962). Alex is finishing up his first monograph Selective Reading: Evolution, Eugenics, and the Contested Legacies of R. A. Fisher's The Genetical Theory of Natural Selection.
